A few months ago i set up a small pc support business, nothing major just repairing a few local pc's for home users.

I've advertised on few places on the net resulting in hundreds of phonecalls from telesales people! I just ignore them , however last month i had a phonecall from some balshy tosser thanking me for donating to their charity and i'd help all the sick kids greatly, i couldn't get word in edgeways and so hung up.

Yesterday, i recievd a pro forma invoice for the post for an advert/donation i had placed in a publication i'd never heard of, i'm assuming it's the same muppet. I called the number on the invioce to see what it would connect to and it's the BT fault line.

Having a quick look on google it seems to be the latest scam in the hope you just pay the invoice without questioning it.

The one thing that is genuine on the invoice is the bank account number and sort code to send the payment to!

Is there any fun i can have with this persons bank details? I was thinking of a direct debit to a charity of some sort?
What would you do?

Place an ad for a non-existant car in the PH ads, wait for the Nigerian scammers to send you e-mails asking for your bank account details so that they can send you a cheque/cash/Western Union payment, and reply to them giving the scammers bank details instead.

Don't know how successful the Nigerians are at emptying someone's account once they have the details, but it could prove comical.

DO THIS! Do this for every charity that offers this. They're supposed to send back a confirmation however if you send it to enough, then some will just action it. It's what happened when Jeremy Clarkson posted his up assuming that the only thing you could do with those details was to pay money in (doubtless it was a bank account set up purely for that article, but funny nonetheless)

Please don't - there's enough sh*t and fraud in there already.

Nigerian Scammers?? Are they the only ones qualified to participate in this ridiculous farce? Just continue to do what you have been doing, ignore them and they will go away. You start getting involved with these people and you are not only breaking the law but attracting attention to yourself and your business, which you can do without.

Besides, maybe you are the scammer, are you? confess, the game is up!!
