Can anyone/everyone tell me what tyre pressures they have found to work best on 18 inch spiders. Its a speed 6 and i am running Toyo Proxis at the moment.

Ian from Torque RVT has told me to use 29/30 in my spids. Mines a 4.2.

I run 23 front and 25 rear in my 18's and 19's. Anymore and she starts to tramline a lot.

Well when i bought the car it had 24 in the front and 20 in the rear's. Far too low i thought? I put 30 in all round just before i started this thread but that dose feel a little too high now. Maybe ok for track use? I think i am going to try 28 and see how i get on with that for now. Thanks alot for your input guys!

I've got a speed six and spiders, Toyos on back. 24 all round seems best for me, and many on here do the same. 28 would in my experience be prone to tramlining, but depends on state of roads.

Hmmmmm.. mine does tramline a bit on 28 all round , I thought that was normal. Might try 25.
Cheers

I run the same on 18" Spiders on a 4.5 and get nice, even tyre wear, on the rears at least.

My wheels are not the originals as they are the 18 inch spyders. That has to make a difference to the original required pressures. Anyone heard of the 10% rule? Supposidely the sweet spot for pressure is whatever the manufacturer recommends plus 10%? I always find a little more than stated is better. Maybe i drive my cars too hard?

I've got a sticker on the inside of the boot which says 26 front & rear + some more for fully loaded?

Hmmmmmm.....The owners handbook from the 01 car has the pressures in for all three models

4.2 225/45/16
4.5 235/40/17
4.0 225/50/16

They all mention 22 front/24 rear or 25 front/28 rear for sustained high speed or fully laden or 28 all round for track days.

None of them mention the 18" wheels though scratchchin

My '98 book says the same - but it is for a 4.2 not the 4.5 that it is.

Also, they're for the 16" standard alloys with SO1's.

I'll have to take a look at the sticker again (the car is elsewhere right now) and see if it is a TVR sticker, which I think it is (but I'm often wrong).
