Ebay question - 2 bids for the same price

Can someone explain this to me? We are selling a Doomoo (baby seat) on ebay, and the same bidder has bid twice for the same amount on different days?!

I should say all he has done is upped his bid from (say) £10 to £50 and as he is the only bidder the computer will NOT be raising the price, therefore it stays at £10 unless someone else bids (for example) £11 and then his secondary £50 bid would come into effect.

You can sometimes see the effect as people do this at the last minute to get the bids in.
