NEW BRAKE DUCTS. E39

I decided to install the M5 "open" front lower section to my car but was a bit worried at losing the brake cooling ducts from the "M Sport" bumper so I decided to add them myself. This is where I started from.
We removed the entire bumper assembly to get to the clips holding the grille and T section in. I then polished around the inside where the T section had been attached. We then used a hole cutter to cut the sockets where the inlet duct alloy bellmouths were to be fitted. These were then inserted and bonded into position from behind with Sikkaflex.
Which left a clean appearance from the front
the modified grille was then fitted to the bumper with new clips and a length of flexi alloy ducting attached to each bellmouth from behind and guided through to exit inside the front wheel arches as the bumper was reattached.
Which gives the final more aggressive front profile with the colourless front indicator bulbs, black carbon bonnet roundel and carbon kidney grilles.

sorry.The mod looks fantastic and the car is beautiful. Very well done.

Why the POWER badge? Although it is a genuine Sport, it is not an M Power car. The badge really cheapens it and detracts from the beauty of the car. If you must have a badge, why not a simple M badge to match the M branded trim fitted as standard to the rest of the car?

The badge takes the shine off what is otherwise a subtle, very well-executed and tasteful modification.

Och leave off - we did this ages ago and Kerry pasted all-comers on the subject of badges.
I really wish to do this on mine but I'm worried about the insurance implications - would this need to be notified to my insurer?
Just to clarify I mean the grille not the carbon splitter which I must say looks a step too far! But I'll let you off as I still cannot get over the fact there exists a girl with such an awesome car.

I'm not going back to that badge debate, been there, done that, got bored with it, washed the car in the wet "T" shirt of it, removed the wet "T" shirt! Looked a chilly day, But I divulge!!So then did the rear valance too.
And No, it will not affect your insurance, its only a cosmetic change.

Are those stickers you've got on the rubbing strip? If so, you can get the genuine side mouldings with the recessed badge from your dealer for 20 quid a side, they look pretty good. They are the same ones which were factory fit on prefacelift 528i and 540i Sport. No idea why they removed them at facelift time.
