I've noticed the word Monaro in the brake calipers has began to fade. We dont use pressure washers or brushes on them so why would this happen? Has anyone else had this problem? Ours is a 56 plate CV8. Thanx

Washed my car this afternoon and were just thinking what good condition the calipers were in.

Maybe but would'nt all CV8's have the same problem. I wonder if there's anyone on here with exactly the same model as mine that still has stock brakes? It could be a bad batch of the white paint or maybe it was'nt sealed properly. Anyone have any ideas?

Just like the weak, volume buttons i see the fading paint on our calipers seems to be something only we have. Why could'nt it be something good like mistery extra hp that no one else can explain. POO BUMS and PANTS

sure your local vinyl workshop could make up replacement transfers for you to stick on, course who the hell is going to be able to read them as you zoom past is another matter

and me thr last time i did it:-
It's been a while but I am normally quite shocked at how well the (05 CV8) callipers come up when washed.
BTW I use Wonder Wheels before liberally washing off with turtle wax/water

Err no, I just meant I wash the Wonder Wheels solution off with "turtle wax" car shampoo and plenty of water.
Five stars to anyone that can buff their callipers with wax without taking the wheels off!

You want to visit my local Polish Hand Car Wash... they make my AP calipers sparkle without taking the wheels off!
I have to keep rolling forward a little at a time for them to get between the spokes

Its not the dirt on them that bothers me, its the way the word Monaro is coming off.

Hi Bonnie,

Erm, looking at that picture I would say you like using Wonderwheel alot !! Looks like it has stripped the paint off. I have had not such problems, but tend not to use too much alloy cleaner (little wheel wax etc).

Cheers
Steven

No mate we've never used Wonderwheel. Col knows it to be to abrasive. We only use auto glym and turtle wax stuff
