help! battery chargers for a tuscan!

Well, I finally got my first Tuscan - picked it up on saturday and delighted - now all I have to do is sell the Chimaera!

The car will be used only every odd weekend so needs to be on a trickle charger in the garage - my chim had an Optimate charger hardwired in so I could 'park up and plug in' My tuscan doesn't but previous owner pointed out that under the passengers side door (below where the battery actually is) is a small cover that when popped gives direct access to charge up the battery but needs special adapter or 'plug'. A normal battery charger wont do it. Is this correct? I've been on TVRcarParts and other sites but nowhere seems to have this charger

Does anyone know if this is correct and where I can get one?

ps - Very disappointed in a lot of the main (high street showroom) second hand tvr dealers you see a lot of advertising on pistonheads - most of them didnt even bother replying to emails I sent asking what stock they had within my budget, A couple sent me very friendly replies but most didnt reply at all so I ended up buying privately - very poor - you lost a sale there guys.

SNAP : I'm in the same situation regarding the TVR Specialists. Only two of the dealers contacted me (Ferndown & James Pencer Cars....Thanks Guys)......No replies from any of the others, and I have cash ready under the matteress.....LOL. Did you purchase yours from the Piston Heads Classifieds....????

I've shortlisted one from the adverts that I'd like to visit this coming week......... Hope it's not the one you just bought......LOL.

I think it was on pistonheads for a while - its a dark grey 2001 4ltre. higher mileage than planned (40k) but seems to have a fair bit spent on it in the last two years - original asking price of 15k finally dropped to 12k - seller seemed genuine and friendly and knew everything about the car i needed to know (including a massive stack of receipts. Its a bit stone chipped and a few scratches so far from perfect (I can fix all of this over winter) but motor seems strong (touch wood!) and the 300mile drive home was a blast! - I took the roof off for a bit then put it back on forgetting about the two levers in the boot -very nearly lost the roof on the motorway!!

anyway - still gotta find out about that battery charging system!

Just use your existing charger with a cigarette lighter adaptor.

This can be plugged in and the wire routed to the charger between window and door rubber. You can therefore alarm / immobilise the car and keep the battery tip-top for your next blast.

This is what I do and it works a treat

class! didn't think it could be that simple - I've always hard wired em straight to the battery and had a plug sticking out from behind the passenger seat
