.... so considering he's displayed his face all over his web page.... how the hell is he going to avoid a mounting pile of criminal damage prosecutions????

My only encounter with a clamper wasn't a good one as the scrot clamped my nearside and it was only my girlfriend running across tha carpark to stop me that prevented some serious damage. I'd binned his notice thinking it was a flyer.

Fair play to AGM but be semi serious and don't lampoon yourself too much.

Better to introduce proper control over rogue clampers who cause all the grief.

I'd also like to see more stringent rules governing the application of 'official' parking restrictions. If all restrictions were demonstably necessary and fair nobody could reasonably object to being clamped.

Irresponsible and selfish parking is far from unusal and at best causes stress, at worst it can cost lives.

A friend of mine services life support equipment, he keeps his equipment in his car for emergency call out. Last week he was called when a back up system had failed during a major accident response. He had the equipment to repair and restore the system, the job would take twenty minutes to complete, he was half an hour from the hospital but he could not get his car out of the garage as there was a Jeep Wagon parked across the exit. The police took half an hour to arrive and ten minutes to open the wagon completing the job just as the selfish shoppers returned. The windows could not be broken as they had a protective security laminate.

The Jeepsters face a maximum fine of £200. Unfortunately the patent died some ten minutes after my friend arrived.

The post mortem suggests that had the equipment been operative the patient would still be alive.

There is a suggestion that should the Coronor's verdict support the post mortem the Jeepsters may be liable to a Civil Prosecution in respect of unlawful killing as my friend has an official sign on his garage saying emergency vehicle, please leave clear.

This is just one example of how parkers can affect other peoples lives.

I heartily support intelligent clamping preferrably as the first step towards crushing the offending vehicles.

He was on GMTV this morning - I thought they were interviewing a transvestite until I turned the sound up.

Full marks for dedication though.

He's repairing the after he cuts them off?

Cutting the wheel-clamp off cleanly using the above method means that it can be repaired easily and relatively cheaply by either re-attaching the chain (a Garage Mechanic, Blacksmith or anyone who owns a mig welder would find this a very simple task and would probably carry it out in exchange for a small charge or ‘drink’) or replacing the padlock with a similar one.
There are two advantages in repairing your wheel-clamp:
1. If you do find yourself in front of a magistrate on a charge of criminal damage, then, after admitting your guilt and explaining that you are not a delinquent, but were merely acting out of a strong sense of principal and moral outrage, you can produce the clamp and explain that although technically you are guilty, you have now returned the owner’s property to its original condition and would like to offer it back to them.
2. You can sell it to a car or caravan dealer ….”your worship”!!

Our traffic wardens are a bit different to the ones I came across in Seville. When they see that you're looking to park and they know of spaces, they call you over and point them out to you. And they don't seem to go round with their stopwatches there either.
