Evening,

I'm looking at getting Ferrari in the not too distant future. It'll be a 355 or a 360 most likely.

My dilema lies in that I really dislike Ferrari's in Rosso/Crema (Ducks for cover!!! lol)

I just wanted to know what people opinions are on certain colours and therefore their resale value. I see that Silver seems to be a big no no reading posts on here and looking through the classifieds. Ideally i'd probably like a Giallo Fly 355/360 with Nero hide. Are these as hard to move on as the Silver F-cars? I wouldn't mind a black one but not to sure which one is more popular?

I tend not to keep cars too long so resale is important so I want to try to ensure I get the most desireable colour combo outside of Rosso/Crema.

Opinions welcome?

If you are not planning to keep it long term then Rosso with Nero leather is the best option for punting it on if you do not like the Crema leather.

there is also a distinct market for non red ferraris - though its smaller. When i was selling my (tdf) spider, those who came to see it where specifically looking for a non red car. The downside however is that dealers wouldnt touch it for stock, though would on sor.

If its a rhd car then rosso/crema is the most popular resale combo and lhd its rosso/nero as thats what the germans want

I understand that Rosso/Crema followed by Rosso/Nero are the most popular options. I'm looking for specific opinions of which non Red colours are the ones to avoid. I'd consider a yellow one but is that as bad an idea as buying a silver one?

Just go for the colour you want!! If you're going to spend that size of money on a car are you really going to be happy with a 'compromise' on colour?!

P.S. And don't get started on whether 'black' is a colour or not wink

i think yellow would be slow to sell on - those who i met after non red cars were after something more subtle - so not sure yellow would achieve that! Just my humble thoughts...

Of course i will go for the the colour I want in the end, just trying to educate myself with the opinions of fellow owners and their reasonings.

I had access to a 430 Rosso/Crema last year for about 5 weeks and hated it with a passion. The interior felt old-manish (i know thats not an actual word by the way!! lol) and the exterior felt a bit.....garish......which is weird coming from a Arancio Borealis Gallardo!!!

I just want to know, outside of Red, what are the desirable colours so that I can make an educated decision. smile

I think black or TDF blue would be a good bet.

Sarnie,

Probably Tour de France Blue and Nero Daytona are the next most popular colours I'd suggest. Giallo was more popular on the F355 than the 360. Colours like Grigio Alloy, Azzuro California and the titanium metallic (I forget it's name) are not so popular. You'll probably get more response asking this question on the UK section of Fchat or at clubscuderia.co.uk. I'm with you on the rosso/crema thinking. I bought my spider because it was finished in a Lambo style colour and I regard it as a Ferraghini biggrin I took it to the Ferrari Owners Club day and most likely upset the "establishment" there by having such an upstart colour wink

Thanks for that!!

I love 'upstart' colours on any car and would not want to have the stereotypical Rosso/Crema. I'll stick a post up on clubscuderia.co.uk and hope not to get flamed for upsetting 'the establishment' lol

Just get a 550 or 575 win silver probably one of the best look ferraris in the world and is one of the few ferraris that just do not work in Red. Just remember though, red cars are faster wink

Mine is blue/cream and, although I would be biased, I think it's a lovely combination. I have never seen the appeal of red, besides tradition, for me it is far too ostentatious.

When recently selling my 430 spider i was told by the dealer that black is the easiest colour to sell. He said that he had a brand new 430 spider in red at a good discount and would have sold it 3 times over if it was black. Before you ask mine was black! wink

I have a TDF blue with cream 360 spider and agree with post above, not so ostentatious, having had several red with cream cars its a nice summer color for a change smile

You have very good taste my friend. Gaillo fly on a 355 spider is as poluar as red... I mean just look at it!

Just be careful, as you wont be able to part with it, not for resale value, but from becoming very attached.

Just a thought but a good yardstick for colour popularity should be the used stock available in the Ferrari GB network if you do a search at http://www.ferrari.co.uk/index.php?page=preowned
