The Best and The Worst
Discussion
There are always a lot of sequels to games but which ones really cut it.. are the later ones better than the original..??
I would kick off by saying that GTA Vice City was one of the most enjoyable of the series.. it just had that something, the fun factor whereas the new GTA IV doesn't do it for me. It's very good in some respects like graphics and all the rest but i'm afraid it's a purchase that i wish i never made...too long...too slow...but hey it's just an opinion..

I prefer GTA4 to VC, but my favourite is GTA3-LC.
My favourite game of all time is Final Fantasy 8, but it looks like turd now. Closely followed by the Monkey Island series, but they really look pants.
Monkey Island is ace. Currently playing the first one thanks to Lucasarts making the mac os 9 version freeware and playing it through ScummVM!My favourite game of all time is Final Fantasy 8, but it looks like turd now. Closely followed by the Monkey Island series, but they really look pants.

I know a while ago i found an old Gran Turismo disc, 2 i think it was. man it was so blocky and bad.. but iremeber putting it on and thinking wow this is so realistic.. should have gone to specsavers...

Oh yes, I completly agree with you, and just how bloody unrealistic it was. It was so hard to get the back end out. But at the time I thought it was the dog dangles.

The worst and most disappointing is the James Bond series..... so much hope after Golden Eye and have never been able to recreate that magic. Problem is its like trying to follow other ground breaking games like Halflife, Halo, Mario et al... so hard to do.
Series i've always enjoyed till recent is Need for Speed.. shame they c*cked the last one up.

IMO the last proper NFS game was Porsche 2000 (or unleashed as it's also known) as that was before they just knocked out hot pursuit 2 with what seemed like very little effort and then got stuck on the underground tuning side of things.Gassing Station | Video Games | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
