It's possible I'm being a little unreasonable here, but every time I see the unbelievably smug gentleman on the Car Giant adverts...

These ones:

...I feel the need to hack out both his eyes with an ice pick.

Is it just me?

The one which has a woman with equal muppetacious smile is even worse. Gloating about how buying herself a car from there was so much better than relying on her boyfriend.

Sexist ads are so lame. I wonder how many male customers Toyota lost when they ran those TV ads showing that sl4g deliberately crashing her boyfriend's R/C plane after he gently tapped her car door shut with his foot.

Although the car I bought from Car Giant was essentially a good purchase, the process of buying it was very similar to trying to escape a third world country in the last throes of a bloody coup.

The sense of relief as I escaped the place overshadowed what should have been the joy of a new Alfa Romeo. For a while at least.

I suppose the meer fact we're talking about it means it's effective advertising, but seriously, how fecking annoying is that smug look of self-gratification?

Don't forget the Fiat ad that featured a grown man being kicked in the gonads. IIRC that was banned.

Haven't seen that AD before, but a look like that just begs to be punched on that part of his chin that's sticking out.

Hi! I'm a smug bd, I earn more than you do, and I fk my Brazilian wife every night of the week. Did I tell you I have a massive cock?

WHACK!

Oh yes, I hated those adverts. Completely devoid of humour as well, so they were basically saying "people who buy our cars are spiteful obsessive-compulsive sociopaths".

Great, where's my nearest dealer....rolleyes

Funnily enough this mirrors my experience- got a good car at a good price, px good etc etc but the buying process is a pain in the arse and I was mucked around so much on the evening I picked it up, that I was seriously considering abandoning the whole thing (one chap got so worked up they threw him out!).
