Having experienced my first puncture on my 993 and the associated hassle with carrying main wheel in the car and running on space saver (which was difficult to get out and later re-position), I am wanting advice on whether it is viable to ditch the spacesaver and carry a couple of cans of repair "mousse".
Any comments would be greatly welcomed.

Mouse is fine, but you must let a repairer know you've used it becuase of the fumes in the tyre (and the mess) Shouldn't be viewed as more than a get-you-home solution.

A large amount of repairers won't work with tyres/wheels that have had mousse used on them.

Also, remember that the jack/compressor/space saver is useful weight in the front of a 911. You will make the rear-biased weight balance even worse by getting rid of them. I considered ditching them on the RS to save weight, but was advised against it.

All very valid points which have convinced me to retain the space saver. Thanks to all who responded.

In my old C4, I used to put the space saver, jack and pump back IN the car towards the end of a track day, as the fuel load lightened, in an effort to cure some of the understeer!!
