Temporary protection before I get around to a proper clean?
Discussion
There's a good chance that I'll be picking up a classic car sometime next week that I'd be taking on holiday a few days after buying it. I don't think I'll have enough time to give it a proper clean before we're going away so I'm wondering if there is any half-decent "wash&wax" product that'll offer some reasonable protection?
It'll be properly washed, possibly clayed, then polished, glazed and waxed once I'm back from holiday but I don't really like the idea of exposing the paintwork to bird s
t and all the other nice stuff that you tend to collect while travelling.

If you want to be worry free about bird crap on your car' paint, remove the paint or just don't buy a car - no wax/sealant that layers up at approx 20 Ångströms thick will neutralise damaging bird plops.
Only thing you can do is wipe it off asap when you see it on there with a microfibre cloth and quick detailer spray.
As for something temporary - get some Optimum Opti-Seal or Zaino Z-CS or Z-8, which you'll remove when you clay the paint after a thorough wash.

For quickness and ease of use, Autoglym Aquawax.....just spray it on while you dry the car and it gives a good finish.
Comes in a pack with 2 microfibre cloths for around £10, smells great and contains carnuba so will add a bit more protection and shine on top of just a wash and wax shampoo.
