I remember reading a news story a while back about Chavez putting some new policy he'd dreamed up to the vote of the people. It was heavily defeated.... but he went ahead with whatever it was anyway. No wonder these two get on so well, they spit in the face of everything democratic.

Interesting reading about the half price bus travel, that makes sense i thought untill i got the the next line "to some 250,000 Londoners on income support". Ahh then it made sense - discounts for everyone except those who work.

Feel bad for Venezuela though, dont see why they should tolerate a cummunist dictator. Then again rather them than us.

So Ken Livingstone is helping out one of the world's biggest dictators. What a surprise. Venezuela - the best place for the horrible little man. No one in Europe would employ him smile

"he did not want to be on the payroll of Hugo Chavez and did not believe a poor South American country should be subsidising one of the wealthiest cities in the world"

How democratic is that?

That was his "amend the constitution to make me eligible to stand for president as often as I like" vote. The people rejected his attempt to become president for life.
