What a crock of ste!

Camel spiders make no noise (so it didn't hiss!), and they are completely venom-free, so they wouldn't harm a dog OR a human. Maybe a painfull bite is all you might receive if you REALLY wound it up!

You expect a bit of embellishment....it's the Sun, the dangerous aspect of these things is the gangrene that sets in later, apart from anything they are the most hideous things to grace the planet

dont they have a numbing venom - not poisonous but like a local anesthetic?

Oh man.

With a headline of "Afghan mega-spider" I was expecting a massive spider with a really long coat of fur and a floppy fringe.

How disappointing.

"They poked it with a coat hanger"

That's a sure fire way of making it not angry....

Saw a news report on this last night. Good it was the most dire bit of two bit reporting of a non story I have seen in a long time but anyway. Have a good look at the family. seriously, I have massive respect for our boys and girls in the forces but they did seem to have missed a few vital evolutionary steps.

Looking at their gaff my first thought was that they are after relocation. the place has apparently been fumigated as well so i doubt there is anything moving in there.

I love the 'Have Your Say' column which includes 'Cassie is fit' from a Sun reader.

Best bit I like was that someone went in and caught it.... they then said it was smaller than the one they had seen, so are still not moving back in.

How did her hubby managed to get not 1 but 2 6" camel spiders back, into the house..... alive?

It was in the local paper here on tuesday and I have to admit the cynic in me thought exactly that.
In the Gazette they are apparently "terrorised" by it rolleyes (the son in the link below looks like an intelligent chap smile).

Well you did ask for it...

It is two camel spiders hanging on to each other and the perspective makes it look bigger than it is. Still makes the skin creep though.

Correct, although I suspect those with arachnophobia may beg to differ on their state of worry!!
