Seems like a nice enough idea, but I struggle to believe the power generated will offset the power used in construction.

I live right next to there and its going to take some impressive cages to stop the local detritus from shattering the panels with rocks/bricks within days.

Seems to be yet another bit of half baked green fantasy really. All good though, pretty damn sure its only my exorbitant council tax bill that will have to pay for it...

Stupid idea. Why on the river, where they are vulnerable to flooding damage, difficult to install and maintain, cutting off light from the water column and a hazard to navigation? Because of a twee notion that they might look a bit like lily pads? FFS.

I like this idea, something nice in the river, well it beats shopping trolleys, and it produces electricty, unfortunately as soon as 'carbon footprint' is mentioned in the same context it turns many people off, why not just say it will be a nice feature with an added bonus of giving a few Kw of leccy

What a load of fecking ballcocks - yet more eyesores with those likely to make money from their implementation being the most excited.
Talk about self serving interest!
