Who here has undersealed their Monaro?
Who did it for you?
Is it a pain?
How much did it cost?
Are we there yet?
I wanna go toilet.

Not done mine yet but have done cars in the past. Only issue I had was getting covered in the mist from the spray lance (thin dosposable overalls with a hood solved that) and having to repolish the cars paintwork afterwards to remove the oil mist that settled. Will be doing mine very soon before the colder weather makes it to hard to do actually. Takes time to get into all the corners if you do it thouroughly and its not something I would pay someone to do for me... not that lazy as you get to lay on the floor as it is to spray!!

Done mine, cost £20(gallon of waxoyl), got filthy, don't bother doing it yourself unless you've got a hoist.

I'd already started looking into it and have recently got a quote from Rustmaster

www.rustmaster.co.uk/?gclid=CJrQyZzKsJUCFR0nEAodgxOFlQ

Michael there is very helpful and certainly seemed to know his stuff. I think he comes from australasia too and used to own a Maloo (top geezer) so he understands our cars etc. I would like to give him a go but there are a few more pressing things I need to get sorted first. Also if you get your car treated before 30th sept - there is a £100 discount.

cheers

There is a bloke up here in Newcastle I took the Monaro too. £350, with a guarantee. He had all the gear to get the oil in where it should get to, and did an awesome job.

350 doesn't sound that unreasonable - there is a fair bit of work involved. It's not just laying on your back spraying the underside.....

Yes it is! granted you need to get into the corners and take your time but Im F**ked if I would pay that much just to waxoil the underside of my car! Also as much as I like my car I wont be keeping it for 10 years so a reasonable coating underneath will do and DIY is quite capable of that.

I've used waxworks in newcastle (well Morpeth really) to rustproof my classic yank motor.
The guy is called simon if I remember right and he doesn't just underseal your car.
With my Torino he had the car stripped and was waxoyling the inside of all the panels, inside the bonnet and boot lids....I mean literally EVERYWHERE!!!!!!

For £350 I was well impressed and there's no way I could have done it as well myself.
Plus he's a really cool guy who races an old alfa spider in historic rally.

That sounds damned good for £350, wish I was nearer to Newcastle.

Come off it S600. You can spend more than that on a wash and polish.

mine cost about that at rustbusters so you gotta spend that much to get an inside out job like anything in this world you get what you pay for

Granted but then I cant do anything like what a detailer can do with a proper power mop and tools... spaying on a load of wax is easy if a little messy and something I can easily do... just voicing my opinion that I would not spend £350 on something which I could do more or less the same for £30 in materials and a few hours. If people are well off enough to pay somkeone to do it then fair play...

Yeah, it is simon from Waxworks... he is pretty awesome...
Well, yeah, for £350 quid, it is much better than covering yourself in absolute crap, and he does a thorough job of it..
