Hi folks, Firstly an apology for the non-Lotus content, but I'm thinking of taking SWMBO and the kids to Bournemouth tomorrow for the Beach & Air Show, any suggestions for the best places to pitch to watch and enjoy the sights?

Cheers

Its all taking place in the gardens and cross the beach front I belive.

I'd shoot for Alum Chine (Westbourne) to watch the fly-bys and there is a mini train that will run you upto the gardens from the beach front should you wish for a quid.

Yes, I'd echo that too. Try and park somewhere a bit along the coast and walk (or get the noddy train) down the promenade to bournemouth. Alum Chine

whatever you do steer clear of the town centre as they have shut some roads and it's going to be manic - it's usually pretty pants on a weekend through town anyway.

I can't wait! I'll be watching from the water on a boat biggrin

Yesterday was like being in Beiruit...
Not sure what you want in the way of ice creams etc. If you want access to the refreshments then head down on to the beach, try to move away from the crowded areas around the pier, you will probably have room to stretch. A better vantage point would probably be on the cliff tops. From what I could see of the route the aircraft were taking, they were starting thier run across the beach from christchurch end and turning before they got to poole.

Being on the cliff tops, I am not sure what commentry you will get... or if there is any commentry...

I have a vantage point from the Red Panda (Gooby thinks with his belly!)

Thanks for the advice folks, we ended up pitching up at Durley Chime which was somewhat quieter than near the pier and the views were just as good barring the helicopter display, with the added benefit of the girls spending the day in the sea and building sandcastles, a result all round smile
