poor kickdown response

I have a 2.7 S type(07), while i am generally very pleased with the car i Am a little dissapointed with the responsiveness to throttle, there is noticable lag, 1 to 2 seconds before she lifts her skirts and heads for the horizon, very smooth and quick once on the boil just slow to react, any one have a similar problem.

hi there, same prob with my xk8, in fact sometimes she dont kick down at all, lol, but i dont know what the prob is either, just use the j-gate when i need to get her moving

Mass airflow sensor? Can fail prematurely.
