Show us yer work bench
Discussion
Well i've probably spent about two hours this week standing with a brew in my hand gazing over the tasks ahead.
I am going to need a good solid work bench for the garage to mount my a vice etc before i can get to work with grinders etc.
Anyone recomend a good budget buy? I'm not looking to create a snap on show room, but a solid one that i could probably fix a decent light to would be grand.

Matt, built mine across the end of the garage with reclaimed timber frame, kitchen worktop across the top - vice and angle grinder and bench drill firmly attached using long bolts through to underside. loads of storage space underneath or if you need the full garage length the s bonnet fits under.

Bear in mind that the bigger the workbench, the more crap you'll put on it.
I found it easier to buy some 2nd hand Steel Angle and weld a bench up to the size i thought I needed, the reality is that I only really need one half the size of this so it ends up being a shelf.
I would get the biggest vice you can, they are a Godsend and can be bought relatively cheap at carboot sales or Steam Engine Rally's

Been very happy with it. Sturdy but not too big that it takes up all the room in my single garage.
