2007 vxr exhaust question

looking at the exhaust question can anyone tell me the amount of noise difference for removing the rear boxes and installing just pipe. im presuming the vxr has five boxes like the picture in the last thread on exhausts? I could jsut swap them back when it has to go in then.

Want to know whether it will make it abit more noisey which is what im after

I thought I offered some infor on the last thread. Removing the back boxes make it noisy without a decent tone IMHO. The biggest difference you can make would be to get a set of headers fitted. By all means, taking out the back boxes and fitting straight through pipes is easy. I ended up compromising and fitting a set of small Jetex 250mm straight through boxes,but it was the addition of the headers afterwards which transformed the sound.

Here's one I recorded earlier, back boxes removed, straight pipes fitted with 6x4 tips. A lot louder IMO than std exhaust.
