Just seen the Sonic 7 on MEV's website...

http://www.mevltd.co.uk/gallerysonic.html

Have to say I really like this - the simplicity of the panelling keeps it perfectly in line with the sevenesque look but brings it bang up to date. Also covers one thing I've never liked about 7's, which is the lack of sensation of security (real or imagined!) due to having your arms hanging outside the car.

I really like that, like an Atom with a skin.

I will be taking the all new Sonic7 to the Stafford show on the 13th/14th of Sept. Please come and say hello. Looks like being a busy show as I'm told the hall is now almost full.

New and original design is what this industry needs, and I like this new Sonic 7.

I have to agree, like the fury better than this. People will just think this is a poor mans Atom.

It's not what they think that counts, it's whether or not they buy it.

An MR2 can be thought of as a poor man's Diablo, but plenty of people buy MR2s

In any case, there is nothing clever about making something which is a) good and b) expensive. The trick is to make stuff that is a) good and b) very reasonably priced, and that is what Stig is doing. I am very impressed, and have no connection with his firm at all

Looks good from the front, but not liking the back end...

Would look better IMHO with a fixed rear arch as apposed to the cycle wing approcach.

It's here

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MEV-SONIC-KIT-CAR-PROJEC...

I'd have had that like a shot if I wasn't so involved with other stuff right now.

It's going good thanks Mark. Interesting that you should be reading the kit car forum, hadn't realised you were that way inclined. I was much involved in kit cars a few years ago, and if this project had come up for sale then I would have gone for it, but as Stuart himself knows, they take up a lot of time and attention, and I'm too deeply involved in my kitchen doings to give it the time it needs, even though I would contract out the chassis and the bodywork.

Even knowing all that, I've still been trying to think how I could make it work, 'cos what really gets me is that given the choice of taking on any kit car, it would have been either that or the MEV Rocket.

No connection with MEV whatsoever, BTW.

Beautiful kit car, but then I would say that.

Do hope the project finds a good home.

"This listing was ended by the seller because the item is no longer available."

So, did somebody have it then? I'm jealous if they did, but if they start doing built up cars I might well be interested...

many thanks for your kind words and support Gent's. I did make a sale and I am confident that it is going to a good home. I will keep you posted in due course. It is a great looking car and whilst it pained me to see it gathering dust we are way too busy to put it back into production.
Regards Stuart
