Robbie Williams.......Complete prick or amazing singer songwriter?

Where does PH sit on this matter?

I have just listened to a few of his songs and I have to say I think he is an amazingly talented writer and not a bad singer. But I worried im turning a bit metro-sexual.

Is it ok in 2008 for a bloke to like Robbie?

Lord Pikey.

Unless he pulls his socks up...spent force, sadly.

I think he actually knows this. But he's reinvented himself in the past. He might well be able to do it again.

i cannot believe that you are sat there thinking "i like robbie williams but want my appreciation of his talents to be accepted by a bunch of strangers I have mostly never met and never will"....
do you seek approval for everything you do in life?

Nobody can doubt that his songs have incredible commercial appeal. They are 'great' pop songs (in so far that they sell millions of copies). He doesn't write them.

He is a good showman - but so is Michael Flatley and i think we would ALL agree that he is a weapons grade knobshiner.

I remain convinced of the Oasis view that he is indeed "the fat dancer from take that" and nothing more.

It is not acceptable for a man, in 2008, or indeed in any other year, to like Robbie Williams unless:

a) They are a gayer
b) They are in some way mentally deficient
C) They are a combination of A & B.

All IMO of course.

sir sir, can i go for a wee?

no, of course i dont , it was a genuine question as a few of my mates would deny it purly because he is a male singer.

Doesn't he chase little green men these days? I know he used to do that every night...different reasons though, I think....

I can't actually believe you've sat and pondered this, tbh....what was the thought process that led to you thinking "I know, I'll ask pistonheads..." ? smile

He had a great songwriter for his big hits (angels etc) and then promptly sacked him. Guess what...he's been ste ever since. Go figure!

I really didn't like him until he played T in the Park, He is a showman but no where near Freddie, he has good stage presence. He said "Hello, I am Robbie Williams, you must be Scotland!" The crowd errupted. He was good! I am not a gayer as for the mental health problems, work it out for yourselves.

I thought Robbie Williams was a closet gayer who went everywhere with his 'special male friend' and they denied being gay but actually are?

His songs are catchy and I will admit to knowing a few of the words to some of them. I wouldn't put him above 'mediocre pop' though.
