I am now getting to the crunch point to leave my current employer!

I have a reasonable offer in hand etc but with the current economic outlook it is a good idea to change or best to stay put!

I have been with my current employer for 3 years. And offers a bit more security than nothing, but moving company offers me better working conditions and overall support.

Overall i want to move companies but am thinking of job security if that exists

What market is it?
How long have they been going?
What is there balance sheet like?

You could always do a credit check.

You have just as much chance working out the odds as you have tossing a coin I am afraid.

Indeed a 'well managed' company which does well financially and survives often does so by redundancies etc.

Go with the best offer for you.

The new company is a company called Hyder, They are well positioned and have a varied project workload. The project i am being drafted in to support part time extendes through to july 2010. I will be working 2 days a week on business development in the uk and ireland.

Balance sheet and sales pipeline look good.

The company i am leaving is in the top 20 Times list of biggist companies to work for but, for the last 6 motnhs they have been plagued with problems of inter company competition.

Hyder are a very dynamic company with a good ethos. Have done business with them and they have some very smart people onboard.

It's always a good time to grab a good opportunity - they seem to look after their people and are good at celebrating success

Hyder is as good as any... Atkins, Halcrow, Jacobs, MottMcdonald, Amey are all strong in the market I am in.
