Basically my landlord wants to sell the shop i rent of him . I'm pretty sure he bought it from an auction in 2005, but he's now desperate to sell, and i'm tempted to buy.

Is there any website's that will show you purchase prices for commercial properties ? I've tried the home sites with no joy.

Try the Land Registry online. You'll pay £3.00 for the Title extract, which may have the purchase price. Some do but not always.

have you tried just putting your address into google, it may get you back to the auction house website.

Bingo.

Just search for house price postcode or similar, there are a few free websites.

Cheeky git wants £50000 more than he paid for it, and he's telling me "its what i paid for it"!!!

He says, "It's what I paid for it".... Thus not reflective of the increase in house prices!??!

[Fantasy Land Mode On]

Of course not, salespeople are bastions of truth, honesty and justice

[Fantasy Land Mode Off]

TBH I don't blame the landlord for getting the best price, but he shouldn't lie about what he paid for it. It's a fair one for him to say X is the current market value etc..

Actually, to the OP, get him to put in writing he will sell you the house for the amount he paid for it..............

That's the (PH) spirit!

But they have to keep falling a long way to go back to 2005 prices...
