T350 door problems

Greetings, i am looking for some help with my strange door issues!!!

Symptoms :

Power off - Door solenoids work from the inside and outside only when the doors are OPEN

Power on 1st key position - door solenoids work from outside only when doors are OPEN

Power on 2nd key position (fuel pump on) - Doors work fine from inside and outside

This is very strange and i don't understand it! I have removed the door control units and they are not damp - i have even dried them as a precaution but it doesn't change the symptoms. The fusebox seems fine and doesn't seem damp!

Any ideas would be appreciated - I need to sort it this weekend as i don't want to keep climbing in through the boot!

Do the windows drop correctly when the door solenoids activate?

Sounds like a microswitch problem.

Maybe the door alignment has slipped or a lock is loose.

Door ecus function separately so ecu problems tend to affect 1 door only.

Low battery power can also affect the doors as can alarm faults.

I'd check the locks, security of all connectors and the battery.

Then I'd get a dealer to play with it (I have a warranty that covers electrical and mechanical stuff).

Could be your Door ECU.

I have a problem at the moment with my drivers Door ECU. The drivers door kept opening whilst moving, so the drivers Door ECU has had to be sent away for reconditioning.

if it was the door ECU I would expect it to affect only 1 door, the chances of them both having the same problem at the same time are pretty slim. Any more ideas?

Odd problems on TVRs are often caused by bad connections - especially the earth connection. This and any common power source for these would be my first port of call. Sorry, I don't know where all the earthing connections are.

For any others that find this, try this first;

Mine did this when new - en-route to the 'Ring! - but was fine after re-booting, which simply required ECU to be un-plugged for 1 min then reconnected.

Good news, all of the door problems seem to have gone away on their own!!

However my car is now leaking - a lot! Water seems to be coming in through the bottom tips of the small rear side windows, they are both quite loose at the tips. Has anybody encountered this before? Other than clear silicone sealant has anybody got any smart ideas to fix this without destroying my entire interior?
