I really have struggle how to title this but got bored!

I like Roebuck's writing.

If anyone has 'been there, got the tee shirt' it has to be Nigel.

But I was very surprised to read this on another forum:

"Motorsport magazine is apparently paying him £9k per article."

Well I suppose that if you have his knowledge and insight then you should get paid well.

My view...good for him.

I wonder if he'd be as good as a commentator?
Would the BBC be able to afford him for next year?
Would he want to do it?

You really think Haymarket is paying one writer 9K an article?

More likely he's on a retainer for a certain amount per year and he'll be doing other copy for other publications, but I seriously doubt 9K and article.

Nine grand/article does sound like quite a bit. At the same time, Roebuck is also Editor-in-Chief of the mag, so whatever he gets paid would presumably be for more than simply 12 articles/year. Also, since he moved there from Autosport, Roebuck's articles have been very good value: well-reasoned, lucid, complete. He covers two or three subjects in detail each month. He also pulls no punches, in sharp contrast to the utterly pathetic attempts at F1 coverage from F1 Magazine and some others.
Whatever he gets paid, he's worth it.
