I was having a discussion with some colleagues last night about classic 80's kids bikes that we remember. Of course, we went through the usual list of Choppers, Grifters, Burners etc. But I just cannot remember the name of a certain bike, which I'm sure was made by Raleigh....

It was all white I think, and had mag wheels. It had a sort of built-in front mudguard like a scrambler, and most importantly of all it had a 'computer' on it, built into the front of the top tube I think. This was in the streethawk days remember, and this bike was big news. Obviously it would have been a heavy expensive gimicky pile of st, like all Rayleighs, but that's not the point....hehe

Please someone put me out of my misery!!!!

There was one in all black too, with plastic cowls covering a BMX frame, also with the computer with sound effects. Can't recall it's name but it is on the net if you want to hunt for it!

One of my friends had a white one of these! It was called the Raleigh Vektar. Not much info on the web though. Only thing I could find was this YouTube video:

although this one's black.

The Vectar had a radio, speedometer and random noises and was only for boys who had too much money wink

There was also one called 'Streetwolf' (I think) which was a toned down version iirc.

I was about to say "Sensor" but yep, you're right, it's Vektar. Was there a Sensor too, based on a road bike?
