Hi

Just thought i'd raise this as a new post which i mentioned in another topic

I used them for a service 5 months ago and they quoted me about £1500 for repairs/replacements which most did not need doing. Some of the stuff that i knew needed doing like new front tyres and wipers i did elsewhere. Left the rest as i knew they were quoting me for non required work
Got it serviced at a specialist last month and it only needed £200 of repairs.

Will not be going to that vw again

i used them for a service a week ago. found there work was above average. service was very good (which i found strange). However dont think in all honesty they tried to solve one of my problems which i requested (didnt pay them to look at it).

difficult one without knowing the specifics, how much of the work was required and how much was preventative..?

local vw dealer here tried to tell me my car was fine to drive when they were ordering most of an engine under warranty!

they quoted
- 4 tyres (£400) - only fronts required
- cambelt service (£350) - not due for another 16k at the time. But they insisted as it was not on their system
- rear axle bushes (£300) - did need doing but i got done less than half that
- front bushes (£200) - specialist said nothing wrong
- air con re gas and brake fluid change (£150) - i had receipt of this done recently from the last owner
- fan belt - (£60) - i got done for £30 at specialist
- 2 turbo pipes (£125) - specialist said nothing wrong
- wipers - (£30) - got cheaper off internet

total of over £1600 there which is more than i thought

jobs that got (needed)done at cheaper price elsewhere:

- 2 tyres (£180)
- rear axle bushes (£140)
- fan belt - (£30)
- wipers - (£25)

total £375
