And for the sake of balance after whinging about being on my 3rd 360.

My Wii failed last night - doesn't read discs anymore - which is a little terminal.

I bought it 11 months and 1 week ago. Which is lucky.

A friend of mine had this problem, apparently it's the laser lense getting dirty. Sent it away to be cleaned, and it worked fine after that.

Maybe a little googling will turn up a DIY guide

Suspect a dropped laser.

The shop I bought it from swapped it sunday afternoon without blinking.

Don't know if anyone else had this problem but ours goes off now and then and you can't switch it back on.. Not that often and not a problem because i just go on the PS3.. it seems if you leave it overnight it switches back on ok. just curious if it was a common fault..

It might be overheating. Make sure there's airflow round the thing.
