Wr Quattro differential query?

Does anyone know anything about the Ur Quattro drive transmission through the four wheel drive system- As I dont!!

I took the car out the other day for a drive and I happened to notice that wshen reversing the car on gravel, the real wheels loosened the surface whereas the front tyres did not. I then went and found some grass to see if the front wheels were still engaged and they also spun.

I then heard a chirping noise, which I can only assume is the front dif. Im losing power to the front.

Has anyone had this problem or have any advice.
