Tyres again !!

The SEAC arrived with crappy Marshall power scooby all singing and dancing Z rated tyres on. Need changing .

Due to the beast urgently needing rear shocks and springs , plus some bushes which are being done at Peninsula on Thursday , funds for tyres are severely limited .

Black circle have quoted a reasonable price for SO3's , but even they are stretching it a bit , does anyone have any genuine comments about kumho 711's ,would I be swapping one useless set for another , or should I just get me coat ?

Kumho are this year's up and coming tyre. I haven't tried them or seen any serios reports but the people I know that have used them like them. I think that you may be the TVR guinea-pig. Good luck.

Don't the Tasmins challenge cars run these or is that just for the advertising.

The tasz challenge cars do run them as a control tyre, and they do give ther series a small amount of sponsorship. the tyres still cost us 100 quid each though...

Personaly on a road car i'd stick to bridgestone or yoky

I've got the S03's on my SEAC and the grip well
and last well but I do find that they track quite a
lot - or many be that's just my car set up !

I think the other sensible cheap option is Toyo
proxes - if they make the size you need !

I've used SO3's and they are superb wet and dry. Now on Toyo's and grip is nearly there with the SO3 but more squeal on take off or just making progress out of a junction. Changed to Toyo as I was going through a set of SO3 in 3000 miles. Toyo have been on for nearly that now and lasting a lot better.

edited to add on proxies its easier to put it sideways.....

390SE fitted with SO1s. Good tread remaining. I don't know whetehr it is the tyres or the suspension set up, but it 'tramlines' badly. I can't drive in the inside lane of many motorways because of the constant weaving in the ruts - Streaky

Michelin!

Either Primacy or Exalto, got both fitted to the Chimaera, Primacy rear and Exalto fronts. Great grip. Much better (IMO) than the SO2's that were on there before, and wear is negligable.
