for the past couple of days, everything i eat or drink has had a nasty aftertaste.

for instance, say i haven't eaten or drunk anything and my mouth tastes normal. i then either take a bite of something or a drink [currently having some apple juice]. i can taste the flavour, but after 10-15 secs i get an acidic taste at the back of my tongue that takes 10-15mins to subside.

any ideas? i live alone so am ruling out he OH posioning me smile and have had beer, OJ, apple juice, and even milk today and its still the same. my tongue looks normal.

bizarre! what say the PH surgery - other than amputation that is wink

Genius!

Did your piss glow in the dark? Surely that's the only reason you'd ever eat a glowstick... biggrin

They taste rank.hurl

I have vague memories of a friend and I consuming glow sticks (trying to activate them and couldn't break the contact bit, so decided to bite it instead) and someone else ringing NHS direct to make sure it was safe (huge amounts of alcohol consumed there!) and telling the lady on the line that their course of action had been ¨to put M in a dark room to see if she glowed¨

Oh happy days.

no ulcers.

no tooth decay or gum problems i am aware of. had root canals and a false molar put in last yr which i sometimes get food stuck under, but otherwise my teeth seem fine.

and i've never eaten a glow stick, but if it does make your piss glow in the dark then i'm game smile

is this a trip to the dentist or the doctor?

Doctor for sure.

I once had a bad taste in my mouth, ended up being some sort of infection. Just had a nasty tasting mouthwash to use. This cleared it up.

Petrol tastes no worse than vodka or whisky or any other burny liquid, it's the petroly belches you get for the rest of the day that are the bad bit of it.

Never tried dichloromethane but I think it smells lovely, whether I'd think the same about the afterbelches I'm not sure... now where did I put that paint stripper...?

Have you been in an accident recently? Any chance of whiplash or anything else that may cause inflamation to the neck muscles?

I was rear ended (!) a couple of years ago and had a glass of milk a few hours later. Taste didn't ago for a couple of weeks. Beer tasted nasty, but I could get away with black tea! Rather embarresed I mentioned it to the physio who said it was quite normal in cases of neck strain for the inflamation to trap the nerves that emerge from the back of the tounge.

You could try Ibruprofen (to reduce the swelling), but really a trip to the doc would be a good idea in case it is something more serious.
