You won't believe how much flies about. Just had an email about some speech at an ecomentalist meet. Apparently, one important fact was omitted from Al Gore's Inconvenient Truth. I hope you're sitting down. Put all sharp or dangerous objects away. (This is from memory as I've permanently deleted the email by mistake.) Unless we cut emissions by 98% in the next 5 years, the climate will go into total chaos within 10 years.

I am off to burn a tyre in protest.

a woman on radio 4 this morning (on the newspaper review bit) said that we are facing the worst cilmate crisis since the ice age.

i wasn't aware the ice age was a crisis. Think of all the nice scenery it made, and evolution it caused.

hmm.

another guy on the same program said he thought adverts for holidays should carry a warning saying something like "this holiday may cause homelessness, climate damage and climate migration".

hmmm.

On my list of "things to do when I get a time machine" is definitely "go back and see the Lake District being made"...

Will that really be that exciting to watch though?

I've just accepted these days that I'm just like those people who say the holocaust didn't happen. rolleyes oh well. I will cope.

As for the Mammoth's...well you have seen the methane a cow gives off, image that on a larger scale.

Don't see the problem? Get out there and burn up as much road as you like! In 10 days time they turn on the Hadron Collider and all life on this planet will end anyway. At least that's what the ECO nuts are telling us now, so if we're still around in 11 days, maybe they're wrong about the rest of it too!

Be fascinating, I like looking at old maps and stuff and seeing what places I know used to be like... seeing the proto-Lake-District would be great. Especially having a time machine and being able to watch it happen at whatever speed I wanted.

I find this interesting too. I work in countryside management and was doing some research a few weeks back on land ownership (to find who to bill!) and found a 125 year old map of the borough at the town hall. I think its really fascinating to see the development of place names and land uses etc.

Some useless Ice Age information. The southernmost extent of the glaciers that covered the bulk of Britain was Tally Ho in North Finchley. Two miles from where I am typing this vital missive.

Of course, it wasn't called Tally Ho, North Finchey in those days.

I think they called it East Barnet back then.

Farted too much.
So, they didn't have cars, power stations, factories, platic bags etc, it was the farting, so there you see, we need to give up farting and then the world will be saved.
