Shock from TENS Machine
Discussion
When you have a question , where else to turn but PH!
So, whilst the mrs was in labour earlier this week she asked me to adjust one of the pads on her TENS machine as it was stinging. It looked like it had folded up a little bit so I thought I'd unplug that pad (machine was still running but I had to act quickly as the mrs was in some discomfort) remove and re-apply it. No sooner had I removed the pad than she leapt up screaming that the now unplugged pad was 'electrocuting her' and that I should 'jolly well sort it out at my earliest convenience' (or something).
How come unplugging the pad had such an extreme effect? I'd have thought cutting the power to it would have just turned it off. Or could it have been that the pad was indeed turned off and so was letting the pain it had been masking get through?
Either way, that there childbirth looks like it smarts...
Cheers,
KS
