Tuscan Armourfend

Hey,
I have it - was already fitted when I got the car so can't help on price. It's good and it does indeed stop most stone chips, although a couple have been bad enough to damage the armour fend. Would I have got it if it wasn't already there? Probably not, unless I was going to be doing loads of motorway driving.
One VERY annoying thing about it is that almost everyone that sees it goes "Oh look! Someone put a massive scratch all the way across your bonnet!" and then you have to explain what it is. You can see the line where it ends quite clearly especially if dust collects on it and you have to spend ages trying to clear it away with your fingernail!

The material used origanaly was of a smaller size and so only coverd part of service bonnet, and so left a line accross a very visual area of the car.
They now have a larger sheet of material which avoids the line accross the bonnet, and now allows for cover of main and service bonnet. If getting this done areas around lower arches,'A' pillars, mirrors and rollover behind roof can be protected, all vunarable areas to chips.
Quoted prices above £500 when I enquired,and would take around half a day to cover. If paintwork is very good, not marked, and having spoke to owners who have had it done they gave good feedback. But it is expensive if you have an easy paint colour that can be blown in to good efect. If you have Tri colours then this would be a good investment compared to paint prices and a respray.
Have been told that it can be difficult to remove and can cause some damage on removal (word of mouth, not a known fact) but doubt you would want to do this unless car gets damaged.
My input would be go ahead if paint repiar would be costly, as does offer good protection. Wish I had it fitted before chasing round Bruntingthorpe and tip toeing on Council road chippings.

For what it's worth, I wouldn't bother.
I had it put on my (dark blue) Tuscan from new, and I'd agree with the others above - it keeps off stone chips, sure, but I find the visible lines just as annoying as having a few stone chips.
Another annoying side-effect I find is that when you're polishing the car, you can't polish the armourfended part - and if you do accidentally get polish on it (a) you'll leave the white residue in the line where the armourfend starts, but also (b) you'll have to work hard to get the smearing of the polish over the armourfend off...
