Unfortunately my car has had to come off the road until the spring and is now in storage. Does anyone know where I can get a "laid-up" insurance policy to cover it while it's locked up as my current insurers won't help me out?

I've done the usual google hunt and the policies I've seen so far seem to be for classic cars and won't cover me.

Any ideas?

Cheers

Hi I live abroad and "Endsliegh Insurance" covered mine and I got a special rate while I was away as it was as yours is stored. Give them a try were a good price plus one of the only companies that will insure a non resident?

hope it helps

Can't they reduce it to Fire & Theft cover only? I've done that in the past but can't remember who with.

I've done this before with Competition Car Insurance.

Unfortunately not, it's fully comp or nothing apparently so I'll give Endsleigh a buzz.

Try Footman James. IIRC they covered my Griff for something like £35.

Adrian Flux/HIC should also do it too, and I would imagine Sureterm would as well.

I've just SORN-ed the wedge and Manning simply changed the policy over to that for a laid-up vehicle.(Not quite as cheap as I would have hoped though frown
