My Fury is currently for sale on here and on locostbuilders but haven't really had even a serious enquiry to date. Any ideas on where else to advertise it? I understand that this is far from an ideal time to sell give the recent weather and financial climate, but it needs to go in order to facilitate a move to Exeter which may well be in the next few months.

Stafford show is in a couple of weeks - perhaps stick a "For Sale" sign on it and give it an outing at the show?

Not sure, but you may get free entry as the driver of a kit car.....

I tried e-bay for about 6 weeks, minimal cost but no genuine bids or interest despite averaging 1,500 viewings per week. But plenty of stupid questions / offers. Not a single enquiry from kit car magazines either. Only had 3 serious enquiries, ALL from Pistonheads resulting in a sale at full asking price. And free to advertise. Took 2 months to sell in all. But if that one particular buyer had not come along i could well still have the car now, 10 months later. My advice is just wait it out, there are very few serious buyers out there.

I think anyone who is in the unfortunate position of having to sell a kit car needs to think very carefully about the price. There is the rare buyer who is happy to pay a 'fair' price but most buyers are looking for a bargain, and it's a buyers' market at the moment and likely to remain so for quite a long time.

Yeah, its all a bit slow.
- Im looking for a kitcar, and while im also having a bit of a scout elsewhere, im basicaly focusing on Pistonheads. Did the same for buying the tintop, although i also looked at autotrader for that.

The bloke that Backs on to me recently bought a Lotus Seven Replica - I think a Robin Hood.

It was advertised on the busiest junction of the the most affluent suburb in Liverool. Parked with a for sale sign.

He went out one day in the car, saw it, stopped, phoned the owner had a test drive and bought it.

I saw it too. I thought "Nice Robin Hood, I'd buy it now if I was single" (The wife would go mad)

Also a few months ago I went past a quantum soft top on my way to work with a for sale sign. It was also advertised on Piston heads. For a few days I though about it seriously, before deciding that that an MX5 would be better.

Anyway my point ? Park it with a for sale sign out side Halfords or next to a busy road.

And put the price where it can be seen! Every car is 'for sale', the question is how much?

I sold my Tiger on here a year ago, it sold in a couple of days for more than i paid for it. I did post it up on a couple of website, Classic Car i think, there are a few that let you do it for free.

also depends a lot on what you are selling!! A 540bhp Ultima isnt really going to sell from the side of a road, it could well get stolen.

I had a call from Chris at Fisher on Thursday, asking if he could borrow my car to go on their stand at Stafford. So it will be there, with a for sale sign on it and hopefully something will come of it smile

It is the orange Fireblade engined one on my profile. The response at Stafford was very good, and Chris took a shine to it himself. I have since taken a deposit for the car.
