first of all dont flame me for my poor english lol

am asking this on behalf of a good freind of mine , as i dont no the answer to it .

at current him and his missis rent a house , now they both pay towards the bills etc and work full time , she as only been self inployed for around 2months , but before was working a 40hr week .

his misis is epleptic and has a doctors apoinment in few days regarding it , which she thinks the specialist doctor is going to say she cant work for a while , leaving them with a much smaller income , is there anything that they can claim for towards helping them pay towards the bills etc .

my first thought was to tell him to come out of work and be a bloody dole sponger as they seam to be better of than the pepole that work for a living , but i no he wont do that and dont blame him .

now is there anything you can sort of claim to top up is money due to her been told she cant work till the doc says she can again .

the main thing is because she has gone self inployed , does all this massage and facial treatment stuff , i think otherwise she could of put a sick note in but that note been the case she cant .

many thanks for your help and sorry if hard to read

Housing/Council tax benefit may be able to be claimed, its based upon household income, not state benefits.

There may be other things that could help your friend, local council will be able to give help regarding Housing benefit, and may have a free advice service that could help..

Good luck

Whilst it is definitely worth a trip to the citizens advice bureau, it is also well worth phoning any health helplines / charities specific to her illness, as they usually have a far greater knowledge of what can and can't be claimed and what assistance can be offered.
