Labour bury more news: Free Scottish NHS parking
Discussion
Today the big story is the Stamp Duty Holiday or whatever they want to dress it up as.
And strangely enough also the day they announce free Scottish NHS parking.
While that in its self isn't a bad thing should it not be applied nationally?
They already get an awful lot of 'Free' stuff. Why more? and at whose cost?
Vote buying? surely not!

I was going to say "unbelievable" but of course it's entirely believable that this shower of s
t would come out with yet another scheme which benefits someone other than the respectable, English, tax-paying, non-Labour-voter and favours some other f
ker.
Outrageous. That's better.
te without thinking "hang on a minute..."?

It's simply not fair to expect patients or visitors to have to pay when they come to hospital, when they may be suffering personal anxiety, stress or grief.
Put bluntly, a car parking charge is often the last thing people need.
Except in England, where obviously they are much better placed to cope with it. How can these idiots come out with this sPut bluntly, a car parking charge is often the last thing people need.

So are you saying that Scottish people aren't respectable, don't pay taxes and all vote for labour?

Usless shower of s
ts! They really are hanging on to the Scotish votes... or lack of them!!! They know they have lost all the English ones!!!Did any of you actually read the article? The Scottish government delivered this, not the British.
The (brilliant) SNP are in charge in Scotland. It has nothing to do with Labour. Zero. Nada. Labour are powerless in the Scottish Parliment.
The SNP are also phasing out prescrption charges for everyone in Scotland as well as having frozen council tax and delivered free eye tests for all.
If you want free parking at English hospitals it's up to you to petition your politicians.

Incidentally, the OECD have also just issued a revision to their assessment of the UK economy.
The OECD expect the UK to head into recession for the last half of this year.
So maybe Labour won't get a 'good news' day after all.
No more boom and bust....
Yeah, f
k off Gordon and take your third-rate government with you for a short walk off a big cliff.

I would suggest they move to Scotland but I think that would be shooting myself in the foot somewhat.
Considering in Scotland we have:
1. Started the phasing out of ALL prescription charges
2. Free eye tests for all
3. Free parking, with the exception of new Labours beloved PFI sites
4. Certain free cancer drugs that are unavailable in England
... I suggest Ben Bradshaw treats himself to a new calculator.

As has been said, this decision was made by the Scottish Government...y'know...the one with the SNP at the helm - not Labour.
Contrary to popular belief on PH (and this does appear to be limited to the Little Englanders on PH) there is not a Labour majority running Scotland; we voted them out! Instead of the English disease of constantly wingeing and blaming everything on everyone else (typically the Scots) but doing sod-all about it, why not actually vote Labour out?
Sure the 2008 English local elections had a huge swing to the Conservatives, but there were still 2368 Labour councillors voted in? Who voted for them? It wasn't the Scots

How is this "bad news" that needs burying?
A load of old nonsense. Getting free parking at a hospital should be a given. If you are a pateient or visitor the parking charges add up to an obscene amount. When I was in a few weeks ago my wife spent over £30 a week on parking alone, as did parents and friends etc. Not to mention the cost of the fuel getting there, which if they came each day totted up to over £100 a week. We're lucky, we can afford it without any issue, but many can't. I was in for a month. £120 just to get parked. You've got to be stupid if you think that's acceptable.
If you think hospital parking charges being axed are something that should be hidden, then get your head out of your a*se and join the real world. God forbid you have to spend any time in a big grey building staffed by people with stethoscopes. You'll be thankful to the SNP then. Even if you are down south. Eventually Westminster politicians will be embarrassed into following their lead.
Also if you think the money from the parking goes into patient care............How thick are you really?
Oh the Per Capita argument. As if that's something that is the fault of the Scots. Wasn't it an English Civil Servant who came up with the figures? Oddly yes. How about the fact that due to the remote nature of much of Scotland it needs higher amounts per capita? Oh did you forget that one.In the same way that spending in remote areas of England is different to urban areas.
You are using a simplistic and utterly invalid argument about a subject very, very few understand fully. But what do I expect here. PistonHeads: Let's get our facts from the Daily Mail. Neither Accuracy or Intelligence Matters.
