Folks..

My 17 yo son has just passed his driving test and looking for Insurance to share a Mini One 2004 with his mother - about 10000 mile PA

Apart from the usual internet comparison sites - moneysupermarket / martin lewis finance / go compare / Tesco - any other Insurance companies specialize in youngsters ?

Presently with E-Sure who will not quote ...

Regards
Dram..

Quinn are always good.

Admiral and elephant will be cheap, and then hammer them and they usually drop another 200 quid or so. They did with me.

Thanks-I shall pass your message to my 17 yo...

His obvious reply will be " go for the Cooper S then ".......

I dread to think..

If he gets bored of the one, you an have it mapped to be the same as the cooper smile

We have both a Mini One and Cooper insured with Direct Line. Found that no company would touch our 18yo daughter in the Cooper (until she's 19) so we bought the Mini One!

Thanks all..

Eventually via Moneysupermarket best price was £750 with a £750 excess for the 17yo with Diamond Insurance - seems reasonable ..??

Tried Quin Direct nearly £2k !!

Enquired about a Mini Cooper - some did not quote - others quoted up to £6400 !!!!

We deal with a local mechanic whose wife has a Mini One and I'm convinced its tuned / mapped - although he wont admit it !!!!! I shall make some discreet enquiries and offer a bottle of the finest single malt whisky !!!!!

All the family love the Mini and I'm sure we'lll be looking for a decent Cooper(S) in a couple of years ..
