Hi, can anyone help,
I blew the Cylinder head gasket in my 2000 astra sri 16v. We then installed an engine from donor car. Same model, age, engine codes/numbers etc. The car wouldn't run correct and showed a problem with Cam/Crank sensor. The car ran fine until the engine reached 4-4500 revs then started to misfire. I then got the head done on the original engine, replaced the gasket, timing belt and kit and fitted a new sensor. Now the same has happened, the car runs fine until the engine reaches 4-4500 revs then starts to misfire. This was not happening before fitting the donor engine. The work has been done at a local garage who tell me they don't know what to try next. Any ideas before I get totally ripped of by a vauxhall dealer?.

I have a 200 2 litre sri astra as well and i purchased it with no engine i installed an engine out of a vectra of the same year and the car starts and takes over fine but wont rev i wonder could you help me by taking a photo of the top of the engine especially were the wires go onto the throttle body and the wires on the breather pipe

Hi Dave,

Try heading over to 'Astra Owners Network', and someone there will most certainly be able to help. Unfortunately there aren't many VX techs on this site.
