Guys,

Maybe a thick question....here goes....

I have a Panasonic Digital video camera that takes the small tapes. (NV-GS70)....

I am trying to load numerous videos (kids nativity, birthdays etc) onto my hard drive.

On running the reletive software, it seems that I can only download images from the card rather than off the tape? I can also use the camera as a webcam but thats not helpful....

So, does anyone know how to get the videotape footage from the camera onto my hard drive?

Cheers

Kev

I'm personally running a firewire connection between my Mac and the camera. Plug it in, Mac see's it and asks if I want to import footage. Click yes and the import of the tape footage happens.

Are you sure the software just doesn't look at the camera as a seperate drive which would allow you to see the memory card. Was there any other leads to plug into your camera - a small connector with one side that looks like it's been bashed in ?

If you are on a PC and have a firewire (most do) connect them up,open windows movie maker (it's on your hard disk somewhere) and click on 'import from camera'
