Are going to take your car and head for cover inland?
You do not have a garage and Isabel is very close to you.

Good luck,

I rented a garage a couple miles up the street. I'll rent it through the winter to ward off the snow. I didn't like the idea of a tree crashing down on my baby.

Thanks for the conern tho...

It's good to know that you have protected the car. I did not think the car would do so well under a car cover in the lot with the wind and debris. You have a particularly nice 93. I was wondering if you elected to stay around or take off further inland with the car.

Oh... and by the way - hope you are ok, too, Mike

Sorry Calvin - couldn't resist...

Oh yeah that too. But Mike can take care of himself, like run for cover.

The Esprit on the other hand requires it's owner to look after her.

Hopefully both are alright and weathered the storm.

It's good I garaged her. It looks like a bomb went off in the forest right next to my apartment. Probably a third of the trees snapped or pulled up by the roots. Not just the little fellas either...big solid oak trees snapped in half like matchsticks. Amazing.

My water is back on, so as soon as Kasia gets in I'm driving over to see how Evilyn faired in her new garage.

Madmike...Have been thinking of you all over there and keeping an eye out on the news here in NZ. News reporters were broadcasting every hour what it was doing. The high winds must have been very very scary. They rekon it was over 200km long from one end of the storm to the other

I had visions of a tree branch, piece of wood, or debris penetrating the body driven by the wind.

Or maybe a modern version on the James Bond submarine with under water. Yuck!!! what a thought. After the hurricane in FL a few years ago I saw a few cars for sale as salvage for Esprit that had been submerged. On the surface the cars did not look so bad but they were a mess.

Glad to hear you made it okay. Did the car make it okay in it's garage. I am quite familiar with your car from it's P.O and am fond of her.

Sigh. Esprit. Garage. Big ass tree. Water.

Gotcha. Decision to garage Evilyn was a stroke of brilliance. The car was untouched by the elements, so she lives to ride again. She'll be out of action for a few weeks, as I have to send a wheel off for repair, but after that...fall driving is great.

Thanks for all the concern guys (and gal.) I love this big ole Lotus family we all belong to.
