Hi all,
Every year I do a bit of a weather report for the 24h (I have called it correct for the past 3 years)
My first shot at this years weather for the big race....
It looks like a settled end to september with high preasure blocking over the north Atlantic. this should bring showers to northern and western coasts with cool northwest winds, Silverstone should remain dry with temps 17-20 in the day but chilly 5-8 at night.
With this set up there is a good chance of a bit of FOG in the morning so get the safty car ready...
This is just my own view on the weather and I will give more detailed updates as we get near the time,

Almost a certainty in Silverstone...
saying that I went to the Nring 24 last year and guess what a looonng stoppage due to fog !!!

Weather update.....
Wednesday-Friday...sunny with a 50% chance of showers, winds from a northwest direction, max temp 16-17deg, min temp 7-8 deg.
Saturday- a small weather front is expected to pass through between Friday night and Sunday morning, this will bring rain/showers to most of the uk the further south and east you are less rain is expected.
With the wind coming from a northwest direction temps will be on the cool side, max 14 min 5.
Sunday- when the rain front moves through expect a sunshine/showery day
with a cool northwest wind temp 13 deg.
This is MY current forecast based on the information that I have at the time. I will give further updates over the next few days.

'Watching this interesting thread closely.
According to Metcheck (right this moment), rainfall is expected to be 5.0mm in total over the course of the event. This morning it's prediction was 0.4mm and yesterday afternoon 'twas 3.1mm.
All over the place but that's only to be expected at this time, I suppose. The nearer we get the more accurate it will be.

It'll get to the point where seaweed will serve just as well as t'internet.If it's wet and slimy - it's raining/has been raining.
If it's dry and crispy - the sun must be/must have been out.
If it's white and cold - that'll be freezing then.
If you can't see it - it's 4am, the Britcar 24hr, and f.foggy.
I have it on good authority that the Indian Summer WILL be arriving just in time for the event.
I can picture swimming pools, people in shorts and T-shirts and sun cream being applied liberally.
It's gonna be a scorcher.
Of course, when you wake up from the dream it will be foggy, damp and cold as you hold your groin tight, bursting for a pee and reach for your Jordans muesli bar on the Sunday morning.

Not a bad forcast from 3 weeks ago......
(Just read my first post and that is the weather for this years 24h)
I would like to wish all teams good luck for the race.
