Anyone else mopping up and discouraging a puppy from doing anything dangerous?
All the time! I foster dogs for a rescue. They usually come to be with a few issues. I sort them out to a greater or lesser degree, then they leave me for their permanent home and I start all over again
Clearly I am bonkers
Your pup looks lovely. What's his / her name?

I find it easier with most of my foster dogs that in the initial settling in stages they are with me / us until they are more relaxed and confident. I usually crate them (depending on age and behaviour) and they sleep in our room at night. Not on the bed or the furniture. Once relaxed and happy, they don't feel the need to be with me all the time. However, this has to be done in a careful manner so as not to induce separation anxiety - you do NOT want that to happen.Mrs Grumpy said:
