I'm looking at buying a Boston Green 328i sport - reg T456 VFB.

The mileage is apparently nice and low at 63,000.

The guy selling told me over the phone the history is '5 or 6 stamps' with all but one of those being main dealer. I would be extremely grateful if anyone was able to check and confirm this for me.

Oddly he said the last service was in 2005, so i'm not quite sure what the car has been doing since then? Perhaps it has been serviced independantly.

All help appreciated, thanks in advance.

Nick Whale in Warwick (formally Damon Hill) and Knights North Staffs have done all the servicing on that car it also went into Coventry once too.

Give them a call and see if the Service depertments can give you any info!

I recently rang the £1 a minute BMW Customer Services number and they told me the sort of stuff Donut's just given you. I then rang the North Oxfordshire BMW dealership that had serviced the car for the last 80,000 miles and they were so helpful I was stunned! They told me each service date, mileage, the work done etc. I was well impressed...it's a shame you just come to expect unhelpful people most of the time.

Shame I didn't just ask Donut though wink

My 1997 E36 328 had the block assembly replaced under warranty in 2000 due to nikasil issues, BMW customer service confirmed this, some people have told me BMW replaced just the block and pistons, others have said it was usualy a complete short engine ?.

Agreed, why the hell has it not been serviced for 3 years??

Someone could have done 30k miles a year in that car since then.

If there are not mot certificates then I would walk.

Thanks guys, yes the lack of apparent miles since 2004 concerned me as well. There is a stamp after the bmw stamps by a non-bmw dealer. The previous owner has had the car since 2002 and from the details on the V5 I managed to track down a phone number for him and have a chat through with him about the car. In the 6 years he had it he used it as a weekend car doing no more than 2,500 miles pa. It was always serviced every year regardless of miles, originally at BMW, this accords with what Donut has kindly provided;

06/03/2004 10541 KnightsNS 52158
10/03/2003 10541 KnightsNS 49828
20/12/2002 10541 KnightsNS 48954

And since 2005 it was serviced by an independent / a friendly mechanic. The guy has agreed to send me on the old MOTs to back this up. They are not with the trader I am buying the car from. The car has the light coloured leather and the drivers bolster has hardly any wear, and judging by the other 328i sports I have seen with that leather they wear very obviously at 80/90/100K.

Picking it up tommorrow. Will post pics once I have taken some and remember how to post them!

Hi, Im also in the same boat.Im looking at buying a 320d 04 but the trader does not know of any service history.Ive been trying to call BMW on 09062090001 but cant seem to get through.
I wouldn't touch the car unless i can find out its history and check the miles.
Im going to try and contact the MOT today and see what info they have .
If any one has any ideas or can help me find any info on the car i would be most greatful. The reg is FV54 HWE.

Hi All,

Hi Donut,
I was intrested in your reply to nickyd100 re : Bmw S/History?
I purchased a 2001 E46 Bmw 320 CI Convertable with hardtop 71k on the clock...however when i purchased the car and just prior to picking up, the dealer who was not Bmw said they had lost the Service Booklet, after lots of argy bargy they wiped a £1000k of the bill, the car is pristene and drives lurvley.

I have rang the Uk Bmw hot line and all they could give me was 3 garages of which the first was able to stamp the new s/book for PDI, the other 2 garages thus far have said the files have been archived and cant be retrived ? frown Is it me or is this normal from a Bmw garage? Is there a big cover up on this car frown Im really gutted not knowing where the car has been and able to get the new book stamped, but i must say the car is pure bliss, are you able to help or get me any more info? Please ! Please ! frown
Kind Regards
Danny

Hello all,

First timer on this forum. I was wondering if anyone was able to check service history on a 53 plate 645ci. Plate is RA53 KLP. Is up for 14250 at moment with 49K on the clock. Current owner says he has Full Main Dealer Service history, but that they hadn't stamped the book on last 2 occasions so i'd just thought I'd check out what was fact...and what was fiction.

Hi. I am looking at buying an M3 here in Ireland. It was imported from the UK in 2007. Is there any way for me to find out its service history from when it was in the UK? It's UK reg is KE52XGP.I have tried to check it out here and all I could find out was was that it was never stolen or written off. A good start I guess but i'd like to know if it had its running in service, inspection I and II,Factory recalls etc. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
