Silly question re: E39 computer

How do you reset the various features on the computer? For example average speed.

The handbook seems to say to hold the selector in while displaying the relevant feature and it will be reset. When I do this 'PROG' is dispalyed and stays there as long as the selector is pushed in. Letting it go just returns to the info that was previously displayed, without it being reset.

On My 2002 E39 I have the display on teh dash and I just hold the selector on each display (other than miles left!) and it goes to 4 liitle dashes if my memory serves me right

Think mine has that as well - so that the display is shared between radio info and computer info depending on which mode you are in.

On the centre console, when it's in OBC mode, one of my buttons (far right I think) has 'SET' above it. That resets the currently displayed readout. That's for the High OBC, no idea if it's different for the Low OBC.
