Not a rant just a bit of trivia.

My potential brother in law is a superstar pop star (you ask him he'll tell ya) Anyways we were talking last weekend about getting air play and did you know when his single is played on Radio 1 breakfast he gets £90.00!!! and similar everytime it's played anywhere in the world.

If he hit's the States it's in the hundreds!!!!

Just think how much Kid Rock made today, I've heard it at least 3 times this morning.

The songwriter gets a lot more than the artist does for each airplay.
Sounds like he wrote the song too ?

Well in that case, I hope that Warren Zevon and Lynyrd Skynyrd get their fair share of Mr Rock's royalties.

That's not very much?

To get played on Radio1 breakfast you have to be massive. And to have reached that "pinnacle" (let's not get into whether Radio1 is good or not), you get £90 for it?

It probably cost him £20k just to record the track!

Maybe it's good if he becomes world famous and his records are being played everywhere, but doesn't sound that great if he's not.

He gets a "similar" amount to £90.00 every time his song is played anywhere in the world on any radio station?

I doubt that very much.

I think it was just under half that, but every time it's played on any radio station for the rest of your life!!! Sounds good to me.

Until you marry your girlfriend these people 'aint nuffink'. When you do, your WIFE'S brother will be your brother in law and her sister your sister in law. This bloke will only be your sister-in-law's husband

It wasn't ment to be a claim to fame (as i'm anonymous anyway i can't see how that would work?) Just a statement of fact. That you get £90 for having your song played on the radio.

I just thought i would verify my source rather than just say did you know......

fking grumpy lot on PH today!!!
