It's been a few months since a few of you had your cars impounded when speeding.

I know a guy we were camping next to 'nearly' had his 360 impounded and was instead handed a heafty fine and date in september to return to court. I also remember an R8 being impounded amoungst others.

Just being nosey and wondering if you got the cars back etc etc.

Hi

My son was driving his girlfriends car and was stopped for speeding he said he was not and his mate who was following him on a bike stopped to see what the problem was also got a fine for speeding just for asking what the problem was then they took my son to the station and confiscated the car he told them it was not his but they still took it. He has got to go to court in 2 weeks time can anyone give us some advice as they did not show him proof that he was speeding and also they confiscated the car even though it did not belong to him I thought that they could not confiscate the if it did not belong to the driver.

In general, it does not matter who's car it is. You never know, you may get it back if you do it will cost you. A car can be seized, even if you are not the owner. I work in France, have seen it done it all depends on the police at the time and how far they want to push it.

If you follow that thread through to the end you'll find that the police could not confiscate the car permanently because it belonged to one of the companies you subscribe to and effectively rent a car with your available points. They wanted to take it off him, but he got 1,500€ on the way down and 5,000€ in court on the way back plus a two year ban on driving in France. Such a sad story for an estate agentbeerevil

So in my book your friend will get the car back but I presume you have someone going to court who can speak french. If not he'll just have to smile and carry a big wad with him.
