Hi y'all,

I've had my shadow 2 shipped over to the US (Houston) and finally got to drive her today. All was swimingly great until after about 45 mins on the road when a strong rhythmic vibration started up. I slipped it into neutral (while rolling) and blipped the throttle to see if it changed with the engine revs but it did not. The vibration got more intense so I slowed down (luckily it was the end of my journey) and the vibration slowed. When travelling very slowly it seemed to be in time with 1 thud per rev of the wheels.

I've left her parked for 30 mins and there is a coolant leak/ over flow from the flexible pipe that hangs below the radiator. As I know there was a gearbox coolant pipe leak before (but has just been fixed) is this where I should start looking?

Anyone heard/ experienced this kind of thing before?

Possibly the CV joints on the rear axle driveshafts, the only thing that springs to mind at 'wheel speed'. Are the wheel nuts tight? Rear wheel bearing races can sometimes fail, but unlikely to be sudden.

Check out the fora at http://rrbew.mywowbb.com/ and http://au.rrforums.net/cgi-bin/forum/discus.pl?pg=... no end of advice available there.

Start with the simple things like checking the tires tyres for any lumps or bulges in the tread face, they may have been deformed somewhere in transit or if it went RoRo the handlers could have seriously kerbed it.

WOT HE SAID ^^^^^

Friend had the same with his Citroen!

Jack each wheel up ans spin it while holding your hand on the traed as it spins.

you will find one tyre with a lump, for sure.

Thanks gents. Its looking like its the brakes. Its seriously hot here so it looks like a slight warp in the disk is catching on the caliper.
